Research Interest
Dr. Lendermon's research focuses on understanding T cell mechanisms of lung transplant rejection and acceptance. She is particularly interested in understanding the importance of T cell T-bet expression in tolerance, defining the role of IL-17 in chronic rejection, and in better elucidating the effects of immunosuppression on cellular and molecular pathways that characterize the immune response to the transplanted lung.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Lendermon sees patients with advanced lung disease who are being evaluated for lung transplantation and takes care of patients that have received lung transplants. Her patients inspire her research efforts, and her longterm goal is to contribute to the basic scientific understanding of chronic rejection/bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome thereby facilitating the development of better therapies and improved outcomes in lung transplant patients.
