Research Interest
Dr. Spagnoletti's research interest is in the field of medical education, with a focus on professional development. In addition to leading and mentoring numerous medical education research projects, she has obtained, and has mentored many others to obtain, competitive funding through divisional, institutional, and foundational sources for scholarly educational work.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Spagnoletti completed her internal medicine residency training in the Women's Health track at UPMC and her general internal medicine/Women's Health fellowship at the VA Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her clinical focus is in women's health. In addition to her active outpatient and inpatient practices in Montefiore Hospital, she works closely with internal medicine residents and medical students as a clinical preceptor.
Educational Interest
Dr. Spagnoletti's teaching focuses on professional development, medical education research methodology, and internal medicine. She serves in several educational leadership roles, including Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs for Physician-Educators, Associate Division Chief for Education, Chair of the UPSOM Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators, Director of the Academic Clinician-Educators Scholars Fellowship in General Internal Medicine, and Director of the Masters and Certificate Programs in Medical Education at the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE). She received national awards from the Society of General Internal Medicine for her scholarship and mentorship in medical education and for her leadership accomplishments.
