Education and Training
Education
MD, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, 1996
PhD, Epidemiology, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, 2000
Research Interest
Dr. Nouraie's outstanding skills as a biostatistician and epidemiologist helped facilitate the development of several key studies in the area of sickle cell disease and chronic pulmonary including projects on transition to adult care, predictors of pulmonary hypertension in sickle cell disease, and application of big administrative data in sickle cell disease and HIV outcome studies. His research on the design and analysis of clinical studies in the area of GI benign and malignant disease, sickle cell, and cardiopulmonary disorders has resulted in over 200 peer reviewed publications. Currently he is interested in assessing the cardiopulmonary complication of sickle cell disease and HIV infection as well as biomarker validation in cardiopulmonary diseases.
Educational Interest
Dr. Nouraie has been involved in teaching clinical epidemiology and study design. His education interest also includes application of biostatistical methods in causal inference and biomarker validation.
