Research Interest
Dr. Snyder's research in the field of infection prevention has addressed a diverse array of pragmatic challenges. He has a particular interest and expertise in endoscopic device-related infections including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) duodenoscopes, which have been associated with outbreaks of infections due to highly resistant bacteria. Additional areas of interest include diagnostic stewardship, health system approaches to infection prevention, and innovative perspectives on evaluating infection-related risk in health settings.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Snyder practices as a general Infectious Diseases consultant, and attends on the inpatient general Infectious Diseases consultation service at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital.
Educational Interest
As Medical Director of Infection Control at UPMC, Dr. Snyder's educational focus relates to Infection Prevention. In addition, he provides advice and mentorship related to study design and analysis.
