Physician-Scientist Pathway

The first-year in the research track is devoted for clinical training similar in structure to the clinician educator track. Fellows in the research track are guaranteed a third year of research. The second and third years are devoted for intensive research experience under the mentorship of Division faculty. The fellow will have one half-day per week of continuity clinic in the general ID clinic or VA clinic and HIV/AIDS clinic. There is no ambulatory clinic requirement for the third year of training.

Fellows in the research track will also have antibiotic management exposure during their first and second year or training.
