Research Interest
Dr. Rothenberger's statistical interests include time series methods, state-space modeling, functional data analysis and the analysis of functional correlations. More recently, he has developed an interest in the design, analysis and data coordination of clinical trials.

He has collaborated on studies in areas such as sleep medicine, chronobiology, pregnancy care, periprosthetic joint infection, and mood and anxiety disorders. He also enjoys working with clinician educators and recipients of DGIM awards, as well as providing statistical support for the Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Fellowship (TL1) program.
Educational Interest
Dr. Rothenberger has instructed courses such as Logistic Regression (CLRES 2022) and Analysis of Correlated Data (CLRES 2026) offered by the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE). He also recently began collaborating with the Innovative Design for Education and Assessment (IDEA) Lab and providing multimedia learning resources to students enrolled in the ICRE's introductory biostatistics course (CLRES 2020).
