Promotions and Tenure

Mark S. Roberts, MD, MPP, was promoted to Professor of Medicine. Dr. Roberts received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, received his MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and completed his residency and fellowship training at Harvard. In 1993, he joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty. He is currently Professor of Medicine, Health Policy and Management, and Industrial Engineering; Chief of the Section of Decision Sciences and Clinical Systems Modeling; and Director of Degree-Granting Programs in the Institute for Clinical Research Education.

Gary H. Tabas, MD, was promoted to Professor of Medicine. Dr. Tabas received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1978, he joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty. He is currently Director of the Transitional Year Residency Program, Director of Ambulatory Education at UPMC Shadyside, and Director of Postgraduate Clinical Education at the Laboratory for Educational Technology.
