Announcements and Tidbits

PHCUP Announcements

The Program for Health Care to Underserved Populations (PHCUP) would like to thank all of its supporters for their generosity and volunteerism this past year. Its Birmingham Free Clinic and Women's Clinic could not exist without the help of donors and volunteers.

The program is thrilled to announce a new event that will be hosted by Pitt Nrityamala, the University of Pittsburgh's very own classical Indian dance team. On Saturday, February 23, 2013, the team will host Dhirana—A National Indian Dance Competition, with proceeds benefiting the PHCUP. Eight teams from across the nation will converge in Pittsburgh for this exciting event! Tickets are $20 for the general audience ($10 for students) and can be purchased online at You can find the Dhirana group on Facebook at For more information, e-mail Dhirana at The event is expected to sell out, so be sure to purchase your tickets soon.

Also be on the lookout for upcoming announcements about the 2013 Benefit Auction to be run by medical students.
