2013 General Internal Medicine and Palliative Care Fellows

Maggie Benson, MD, will be at the University of Pittsburgh and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in a medical education fellowship. Maggie received her bachelor of science from the University of Notre Dame and attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. She did her residency at UPMC and spent the last year as chief resident.

Jodie Bryk, MD, is a fellow in the Division of General Internal Medicine. Jodie received an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She did her residency at UPMC and served as chief resident.

Helen H. Dorra, MD, MPH, is an ACGME fellow in the hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program. Helen received a bachelor of arts from the University of California at Berkley followed by a pre-medical program at San Francisco State University. She then came to the University of Pittsburgh where she received her master of public health and did her medical school training at the University's School of Medicine with a concentration in geriatric medicine. Helen completed her internal medicine-women's health track residency at UPMC. She has worked at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System and attended the Helms Institute for Medical Acupuncture.

Monika M. Holbein, MD, is an ACGME fellow in the hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program. Monika received her college and medical school education at Ruprecht-Karis Universitat, Germany. She did her internal medicine residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry Of New Jersey.

Allison E. Jordan, MD, is an ACGME fellow in the hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program. Allison received a bachelor of science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University she did her medical school training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and had a Doris Duke clinical research fellowship while there. Allison did her internal medicine psychiatry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and spent an additional year there as chief resident.

Amar R. Kohli, MD, is a fellow in the general internal medicine clinic at MUH. Amar earned a bachelor of science at Pennsylvania State University before attending Drexel University College of Medicine. Amar completed a residency at UPMC in internal medicine.

Sonia Malhotra, MD, is an ACGME fellow in the hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program. She attended the University of California at Riverside and received her doctor of medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, West Indies. She did her internal medicine-pediatrics residency at Tulane University and was chief resident at Tulane-Ochsner pediatrics residency.

Alexandra E. Mieczkowski, MD, is a fellow in the general internal medicine clinic at MUH. Alexandra received a bachelor of science and bachelor of arts from Pennsylvania State University before doing her medical school training at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She did her residency at UPMC in internal medicine and pediatrics.
