ABIM Certifies Faculty in Hospice and Palliative Medicine

The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) offers a certification examination in hospice and palliative medicine. The exam is designed to evaluate the extent of the candidate's knowledge and clinical judgment in the areas in which a physician practicing hospice and palliative medicine should demonstrate a high level of competence. The exam content is developed by the Subspecialty Board on Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is reviewed and revised annually to ensure that it is current.

The Section of Palliative Care and Medical Ethics is proud to announce that all four faculty members who participated in the certification process passed the exam. Each of the following is now certified as a Diplomate in Hospice and Palliative Medicine:

  • Robert M. Arnold, MD
  • Mamta Bhatnagar, MD
  • Elizabeth Weinstein, MD
  • Gordon J. Wood, MD
