Research Interest
Dr. Crock is involved in research pertaining to the use of Echocardiography in percutaneous treatment of valvular disease and atrial fibrillation. (TAVR, MitraClip. Watchman, Lariat, Amplatz devices).
Clinical Interest
Dr. Crock is a clinical cardiologist who sees outpatients with all general cardiology diseases with emphasis on valvular heart disease and pericardial disease at UPMC-Presbyterian Campus. He specializes in Echocardiography with emphasis on Transeshophogeal, Stress, and Interventional Echocardiography. He is Clinical Director of the inpatient Cardiac Pavilion Service at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital. He is a board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Echocardiograpy. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Educational Interest
Dr. Crock is involved in medical student, internal medicine intern & resident, as well as the cardiology fellow clinical education process. He teaches auscultation skills to medical students as well as house staff. He actively participates in clinical rounding on the floors and preceptors all levels of trainees in the outpatient clinics. He gives didactic lectures to the internal medicine house staff and fellows as well as the nurse practitioners and physicians assistants. He is the medical director of The Three Rivers Echo Society which sponsors a biannual tri-state symposium for physicians and sonographers.
