Research Interest
Dr. Valenzi's research involves translational investigations into the underlying pathobiology of interstitial lung disease, with a focus on systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD). She utilizes high-throughput single-cell sequencing technologies to investigate fibroblast heterogeneity and differentiation in SSc-ILD and other interstitial lung diseases.

Dr. Valenzi also participates in clinical trials for new treatments of systemic sclerosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other interstitial lung diseases.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Valenzi's clinical interests lie in the care of patients with connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung diseases. She has an outpatient clinic in the Dorothy P. and Richard P. Simmons Center for Interstitial Lung Disease, where she collaborates closesly with rheumatologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other pulmonologists in the multidisciplinary care of patients with complex disease. Dr. Valenzi also attends on the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Advanced Lung Disease, and Pulmonary Consultation services.
