2003: Aristotle University of Tessaloniki, Greece - MD
2009: University of Thessaly, Greece - PhD in Genetic Epidemiology
2010: Tufts University - M.Sc. in Clinical and Translational Science
2011-2014: Lahey Clinic - Residency in Internal Medicine

Georgios received his MD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece in 2003 followed by his PhD in Genetic Epidemiology from the University of Thessaly awarded in 2009. He relocated in the US in 2008 for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical and Translational Science at Tufts University in Boston, where he also worked as Faculty in Evidence Based Medicine in 2011. Georgios completed his residency at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, MA in 2014, where he was also recognized with the awards of Resident of the Year 2014 and the Tufts School of Medicine Teaching award. His research experiences have encompassed work in genetic epidemiology of complex cardiovascular phenotypes, evidence synthesis methodologies and comparative effectiveness reviews of various interventions for the care of critically ill. He has recently explored the reliability of observational research in guiding treatment decisions in the ICU. He is also interested in utilizing high throughput biological data in critical illness to improve understanding of biological mechanisms and enhance the delivery of personalized ICU care. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, and go on traveling, hiking, swimming, and skiing.
