Research Interest
Dr. Veraldi's research interests are in the molecular underpinnings of fibrosing lung diseases such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease, with a particular interest in the contribution of heat shock proteins to the development and progression of fibrosis.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Veraldi’s clinical interests are primarily in the evaluation and management of individuals with interstitial lung diseases, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), pulmonary complications of connective tissue diseases, and sarcoidosis.
Educational Interest
Dr. Veraldi attends on a number of inpatient and outpatient teaching services working closely with fellows, residents and medical students at both the University hospital and the affiliated Pittsburgh VA. She organized and for 8 years led the weekly Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) multidisciplinary conference, a forum for faculty and trainees to discuss and learn from complex ILD cases.
