Research Interest
Graft-vs-host disease (GVHD) is a common complication of allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) in which alloreactive donor T cells cause damage to healthy recipient tissues. My primary research focus is to better understand the role of progenitor-like T cells as a source of pathological alloreactivity in GVHD. Separately, I am interested in novel approaches to identify unknown allo-antigens in mouse models of alloSCT, with the goal of developing engineered allografts that minimize GVHD while enhancing their graft-vs-leukemia (GVL) effects.
