Dr. Wright is a diplomate in Internal Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. She has a masters degree in Clinical Ethics. Her academic interests are listed above. She holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine. She received a quality improvement award from the American Medical Directors Association Research Foundation to study older patients’ preferences for osteoporosis medications. Dr. Wright is a key clinician educator in the internal medicine program, and she is the Track Director for the residency's Geriatrics Track. Currently, Dr. Wright practices geriatric medicine in 2 long term care settings in Allegheny County. She both consultative and primary care, ranging from independent and assisted living settings to sub-acute care in the skilled nursing facility as well as care for the severely demented in the nursing facility.
