Disability in activities of daily living, functional trajectories among older persons, and recovery
from disability. She is particularly interested
in recurrent disability and disability in the
setting of acute medical events.
 

Profile
Dr. Hardy is a Diplomate in Internal Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. She is interested in the care of vulnerable older adults and in functional trajectories and recovery from disability among frail older persons. Dr. Hardy provides long term care and subacute care to older adults in skilled nursing facilities and provides care to geriatrics patients on the geriatric medicine service at Montefiore University Hospital.Dr. Hardy is supported by a prestigious Paul Beeson Career Development Award from NIA to study the effect of medical instability, delirium, and depression on functional recovery in nursing home-based, post-acute care. To get a nationally representative picture of post-acute care, she also is using data from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to examine the predictors and outcomes of post-acute care in older adults.
