Profile
Dr. Greenspan's NIH-funded research centers on osteoporosis in elderly women in long-term care and included such topics as new therapies for osteoporosis; new ways to diagnose, assess, and monitor bone loss; bone loss in men with prostate cancer or androgen deprivation therapy; bone loss in women with breast cancer on an aromatase inhibitor; and the importance of falls in the etiology of hip fractures. Dr. Greenspan serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Osteoporosis Foundation, the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, and the American Federation for Aging Research. Her honors include a Physician Scientist Award through the Nat'l Institute on Aging, New Investigator Award through the Gerontological Society of America, Best Doctors in America and other numerous honors related to her expertise in osteoporosis.
