Research Interest
Within the last year Dr. Alexandria Opata's research has focused on examining the adipose tissue of people with Cushings Disease in an effort to ascertain if glucocorticoids are playing an inflammatory role in this process. Prior to this, Dr. Opata's research focused on quality improvement projects aimed at increasing the rate and quality of education for inpatients who have diabetes mellitus and addressing hypoglycemia in this population.
Clinical Interest
All areas of endocrinology interest Dr. Aalexandria Opata; however, she has a special interest in metabolic bone disease, women's health, diabetes and prevention of diabetes, and pituitary endocrinology. In addition, Dr. Opata is interested in global outreach programs focusing on prevention of diabetes through the training of medical personnel and education of the population.
