
The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Division of General Internal Medicine is proud to announce the formation of a new section devoted entirely to inpatient care. The Section of Hospital Medicine is composed of board-certified internists whose main interests involve applying the most current evidence-based care to hospital patients.
Community-based internists and family practitioners across western Pennsylvania now have the opportunity to admit their patients to UPMC hospitals under the care of a full-time, hospital-based faculty member.
Hospitalist physicians coordinate both routine and highly specialized care and are committed to excellent communication with patients and their referring physicians throughout the hospital stay. Physicians provide care at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Montefiore.
