Research Interest
Dr. Szymusiak’s research interests include medical education of medical students and residents, patient safety, and quality improvement.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Szymusiak is a combined Internal Medicine-Pediatric hospitalist, caring for hospitalized adults at UPMC Montefiore-Presbyterian-Shadyside and children at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
Educational Interest
Dr. Szymusiak teaches medical students and residents in a wide variety of inpatient settings. He directs the third-year pediatric clerkship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is an Associate Program Director for the UPMC Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency program.
