Profile
Dr. Crowley-Matoka joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 as a core faculty member at the Center for Research on Health Care and the VA Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion. Since her arrival in Pittsburgh, she has continued her research on organ donation and transplantation in the United States, Mexico, and Spain and has developed a new line of ethnographic research on the sociocultural dimensions of pain management. Dr. Crowley-Matoka teaches and mentors in the areas of medical anthropology and qualitative methods in the School of Medicine and the School of the Arts and Sciences.
