Research Interest
Dr. Feterik's research interests include direct secure messaging, health information exchange, interoperability, electronic health record optimization, electronic clinical quality measures, and clinical decision support.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Feterik joined the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. He is a clinical informaticist and academic hospitalist in the Section of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Feterik serves as Associate Program Director and Core Faculty for the UPMC Clinical Informatics Fellowship training program. He is an active member of the Medical Executive Committee. He co-chairs the system-wide Health Information Management Committee and System Interoperability Strategy Committee.
Educational Interest
Dr. Feterik is a clinician educator with particular interest in teaching electronic health record skills to healthcare professionals, fundamentals of clinical informatics and data analytics, hospital-acquired pressure injuries, perioperative management, and venous thromboprophylaxis.
