Research Interest
Dr. Buranosky's research is in the areas of domestic violence screening, women’s health, medical education and curriculum development. Along with publishing and mentoring others in this area, she also is a member of the Medical Education Research Committee for the Division of General Internal Medicine which reviews and approves research proposals for funding. She has been a Schweitzer fellow mentor to many medical students in the area of underserved women's health.
Clinical Interest
Dr. Buranosky is a internal medicine physician who practices ambulatory and hospitalist medicine. She also serves as Medical Director of the Women's Center Clinic, which is a volunteer clinic providing care to sheltered women. She has a focus in Women's Health and is a key faculty member in the Comprehensive Women’s Health Program in the Division of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Buranosky also has a strong clinical interest in care of underserved women, being director of an underserved women's medical clinic in the community.
Educational Interest
Dr. Buranosky's educational interests are in direct teaching of medical students and internal medicine residents as well as in curriculum development for these programs. On a national level, she has contributed to many task forces, working groups and committees on membership and leadership levels that focus on improving internal medicine residency training and career development. She is known nationally for expertise in innovation in medical education. On a local and regional level, she is known for her curricular work on intimate partner violence, prevention and intervention.
