School of Medicine Teaching Awards

At the October Curriculum Colloquium, Thomas D. Painter, MD, reported that two faculty members from the Division of General Internal Medicine received the Dean's Master Teaching Awards. Melissa McNeil, MD, MPH, was the recipient of the 2012 Kenneth Schuit Award. This award is given each year to a basic science or clinical faculty educator at the University of Pittsburgh in recognition of education-related contributions to the School of Medicine curriculum. Peggy Hasley, MD, MHSc, received a Clerkship Preceptor of the Year Award, which recognizes faculty clinical preceptors who consistently provide outstanding clinical instruction for medical students in the clerkship setting.
