Robert M. Rogers, MD - Lectureship

The Robert M. Rogers Lectureship was established in 2001 to honor the career of Dr. Robert M. Rogers, the former Chief and Professor of Medicine of the PACCM Division. Among Dr. Rogers' many accomplishments, this lectureship highlights his longstanding commitment to physician education and fellowship training. Each year the speaker is chosen by the fellows of the PACCM Training Program.

2013 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Joe G.N. Garcia, MD

Dr. Joe G.N. "Skip" Garcia, MD, is the Vice President for Health Affairs at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. Dr. Garcia is also the Director of the Institute for Personalized Respiratory Medicine, founder/president of Aqualung Therapeutics, and the Earl M. Bane Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology, and Bioengineering at UIC.


2012 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Serpil Erzurum, MD

Dr. Erzurum is a Professor of Medicine and Chair of the Drpartment of Pathobiology at the Lerner Research Institute. She is also the Co-Director of the Cleveland Clinic Asthma Institute and Director of the Cleveland Clinic Clinical Research Unit.


2011 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: J. Randall Curtis, MD, MPH

Dr. Curtis is a Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Section at the University of Washington, Seattle. He is also the Head of Harborview Medical Center and the Director of the Harborview/University of Washington End-of-life Care Research Program.


2010 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Charles Natanson, MD

Dr. Natanson is a Senior Investigator and Head of the Anesthesia Section in the Critical Care Medicine Department at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Speaker: Galen B. Toews, MD

Dr. Toews is a Professor of Internal Medicine, the Chief of the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, and the Associate Dean for Research at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.


2007 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker: Aron B. Fisher, MD

Dr. Fisher is a Professor of Physiology and Environmental Medicine, a Professor of Medicine, and the Director of the Institute for Environmental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Martin is a Professor of Medicine and the Head of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center.  He is also the Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine, National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado.

Speaker:  James C. Hogg, MD, PhD

Dr. Hogg is a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, as well as the founder of the iCapture Centre for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Speaker:  Adam Wanner, MD

Dr. Wanner is the Division Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as well as the Joseph Weintraub Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics, and Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine.


2003 Robert M. Rogers Lectureship
Speaker:  Michael A. Matthay, MD

Dr. Matthay is a Professor of Medicine and Anesthesia at the University of California at San Francisco and a Senior Associate at the Cardiovascular Research Institute. He is also the Director of the Critical Care Medicine Training in the Department of Medicine and Associate Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the University of California at San Francisco.

Speaker: Marvin I. Schwarz, MD

Dr. Schwarz is The James C. Campbell Professor of Pulmonary Medicine and Head, Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Hudson provided the inaugural Rogers' lectureship. Dr. Hudson is a Professor of Medicine and the head of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington.
