Pulmonary Translational Research Core

The Pulmonary Translational Research Core (PTRC) was established to foster excellence in research from the lab bench to patient bedside to clinical practice and to advance patient care and health outcomes in the field of pulmonary medicine. The PTRC is formed to provide the resources, services, operations, and training to support and promote the planning and implementation of translational and clinical research in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) at the University of Pittsburgh.

Translational Research Core Lab

Montefiore Clinical Translational Research Core (MUH-CTRC)

The MUH-CTRC provides state-of-the-art infrastructure, inpatient and outpatient facilities, specialized equipment, and experienced staff to support researchers performing clinical and translational research at the University of Pittsburgh.

Animal Phenotyping Facility

The Animal Phenotyping Facility offers the service of phenotype characterization of mice both in the public domain and unique non-commercial strains.

Cell Processing Core

The Cell Processing Core was developed by Dr. Elena Goncharova to provide VMI/PACCM community with human-based in vitro gold standard models for basic and translational research in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

Small Animal Hemodynamic Core

The Small Animal Hemodynamic Core specializes in acquisition and analysis of hemodynamic data obtained during survival and terminal studies of rat and murine models. Our team consists of surgeons, bioengineers, and technicians who have extensive experience with the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of such studies.
