As Division Chief of The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) at the University of Pittsburgh, I would like to welcome you to our website. Our Division features robust research, education, and clinical patient care programs in Allergy, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.
PACCM is deeply committed to a mission of providing the highest quality, compassionate patient care for patients with lung disease, to mentoring and training medical students, residents, fellows and young faculty, and to research and scientific discovery. PACCM possesses strong translational programs of clinical and research excellence in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute lung injury, interstitial lung disease, sleep medicine, cystic fibrosis, lung transplantation, pulmonary vascular disease, HIV associated lung disease, critical care medicine and the functional genomics of lung diseases.
This diverse collection of Institutes and Centers have created a formidable team of physicians who have been recognized repeatedly by their peers for their caring efforts. Because of this commitment to respiratory disorders, we were recently ranked 7th in the nation according to US News and World Report.
We are extremely proud of our success in basic, translational and clinical research. Our Division is one of the most highly funded Pulmonary Programs in the Nation, with more than 31 RO1 equivalents in NIH funding and three training grants in pulmonary, vascular, and sleep medicine.
We invite you to explore all the aspects of our division through the various links above.
