Dr. Kapoor Guest Speaker at the Provost Inaugural Lecture Series

Wishwa Kapoor, MD, MPH, Falk Professor of Ambulatory Care, School of Medicine; Professor of Health Policy and Management, Graduate School of Public Health; and Professor of Clinical and Translational Science, delivered the Provost’s Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, June 11, 2015.

The Provost’s Inaugural Lecture series invites University of Pittsburgh faculty members to give a lecture marking their appointments to endowed chairs or distinguished status. Dr. Kapoor was named the Distinguished Service Professor of Medicine in August of 2013. Provost Patricia Beeson, PhD, introduced Dr. Kapoor and presented him with his medallion from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kapoor’s lecture, “The Looming Shortage of Physician-Scientists and What Academic Medical Centers Can Do,” spoke to the ongoing problem of recruiting and retaining physician-scientists. A reception was held after the lecture in honor of Dr. Kapoor.
