Faculty Promotions

Promotion to Professor

Congratulations to Doris M. Rubio, PhD, who was recently promoted to professor of medicine. Dr. Rubio received her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis. She joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2002 and is currently the director of the Center for Research on Health Care (CRHC) Data Center, the co-director of the Institute for Clinical Research Education, and the director of both the Design, Biostatistics, and Clinical Research Ethics Core and the Evaluation Core of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Nationally, Dr. Rubio has served multiple roles in the Consortium of Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSAs). She chaired the Evaluation Committee of the Roadmap K12 Program and the Evaluation Committee of the Association for Clinical Research Training (ACRT) and is now the president of the ACRT. Dr. Rubio's research focuses on the
co-occurrence of alcohol use and depression in women and, in particular, on the ways in which life events impact alcohol intake and depression. She has published in various areas, including psychometrics, structural equation modeling, quality-of-life indicators, aging, and alcoholism.
